The Northeast Community Education & Training program offers adults specialized learning environments in vocational areas as well as academics, summer programs and extra-curricular activities in the evening and weekends to meet learning needs.

Biology with Lab      $300 - New Night!
Starts, Tuesday, January 28, 2020, 5-8 p.m. – 11 weeks
This pre-college course will cover topics including cell structure and function and the general characteristics of the plant and animal kingdoms, with emphasis on human physiology and genetics.

Chemistry (Pre-Nursing) with Lab      $300
Starts Thursday, January 23, 2020, 6-9 p.m. - 11 weeks
Chemistry studies matter, what it is made of, and how it can be changed. Students will investigate topics such as elements, mixtures, and compounds. The periodic table will be explained so that the students can use it as a scientist would. Chemical reactions will be explored so that the students can write formulas and equations from them. The proper way of making solutions and measuring their strength will also be examined by experimentation. Laboratory investigations stressing equipment and techniques also will be conducted.

EKG (Electrocardiograph) Training     $325
Starts Wednesday, January 22, 2020,  6-9 p.m. - 10 weeks
This EKG (Electrocardiograph) course provides the student with proper usage and terminology of an EKG machine including basic heart anatomy, physiology, correct electrodes placement, printout analysis, vital signs, and safety. This is a hands-on course includes bookwork and testing and performing electrocardiograms on fellow students. Students must pass the written exam and show the proper usage of the EKG machine in order to receive their certificate of completion. A High School diploma or GED is required. (Limit 12 students)

Phlebotomy Training     $375
Monday, Wednesday, OR Thursday,
Starts week of  February 3, 2020
, 6-9 p.m. - 12 weeks
This course provides practical training and the necessary skills on how to draw blood. The individual will become familiar with all the equipment used and develop a comfort level for drawing blood. This is a hands-on course, weekly live blood draws are required, and includes bookwork and testing. Attendance is extremely important, only one absence will result in automatic failure. The student must pass a written exam and show the draw in order to receive their certificate of completion. This course is for the beginner which requires no previous specialized background. A High School Diploma or GED is required 15 student maximum per class. Class night selection cannot be changed
