General Policies

Refund Policy 100 percent refund of tuition prior to the first class, 75 percent refund prior to the second class, 50 percent refund prior to the third class. There are no refunds made after the third class. Refund payments require a 60 to 90 business days processing period if paying by check. Note: A $10.00 processing fee will be deducted from all refunds. If a check is returned for insufficient funds a $35.00 fee will be added.

What Do I Do The First Night Of Class? Students should enter the front/main lobby of Northeast and report directly to the cafeteria.

Class Times Classes begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise indicated. Apprentice students need to be on time. Apprentice hours will be recorded based on actual hours of attendance.

Enrollment Confirmation Students will receive an enrollment notified by e-mail.

Waiting List If you are interested in registering for a class that is full, please contact our office as space may still be available or we may be able to place you on a waiting list.

Books and Supplies Students are responsible for paying for their own books, materials and supplies unless these costs are included in the course fee.

Attendance A 100% attendance rule applies to academics, apprenticeship training, and all licensing courses. The apprenticeship program and/or licensing courses must fulfill required hours/passing grade in order to complete the course.

Tardiness Academic students late for class three times or more may be subject to grade reduction.

Grading Northeast requires a grade of 65 to pass. Students needing an academic grade for college must meet the grade requirement for the college they are enrolled in. Students making-up a grade for their high school must also meet the requirement of the school accepting the grade. Passing grades for apprenticeship courses will be determined by the State Apprenticeship Board.  Phlebotomy and EKG courses require a passing grade of 70. ACADEMIC STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW THE COURSE SYLLABUS TO OBTAIN CREDIT.

65 Years and Older Discount We value our life long learners. Therefore as a community service we offer a 50% discount on one course per session.  This offer cannot be applied to state apprentice, license programs, and electrical/plumbing/construction supervisor continuing education coursework. This applies to tuition only and does NOT include materials and books, and cannot be used with any other promotion.

Veterans Please contact our office for information on the Veteran’s discount program.

Age 18 years of age or older, or 16 years of age, accompanied by a paying adult or guardian in the same class.

Parking Students must park in designated areas only. Parking outside of a designated area including coned-off areas or in the fire lanes may result in towing at the owner’s expense. Parking areas are at the discretion of Superintendent of the School and are subject to change.

Class Cancellations and Snow Policy On the day school is cancelled due to snow conditions, evening classes are also cancelled. In the event day classes are not cancelled and the weather worsens, a decision will be made by 4 p.m. and relayed to the following television stations: WBZ TV 4, WCVB TV 5, WHDH TV 7 and FOX 25. Please bookmark and check our web site for changes and updates at click on the “Bulletins” tab for updates. Make up classes will be arranged, therefore there are no refunds for cancelled classes.

Drug and Tobacco Policy The Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School is a drug and smoke free school. Possession and/or use of drugs is illegal. Any students found violation of this law will automatically be expelled with no credit earned, no refund, and could face possible criminal charges. Under state law, there is no smoking or any use of tobacco or vapor products on school grounds. Any student in violation of this law could face possible expulsion with no credit earned and no refund.
